    • A lot of the problems some of you have with TF is that you simply don't listen to what he says.

Just one example being when HR left, he made it perfectly clear that he would be taking his time, in order to ensure that consideration was given to all possibilities, from which they would choose a successor. In fact, he could not have been more clearer than he was. Almost immediately, a significant number of people were adamant that Sherwood was going to be named within days, refusing to believe a word he said.

He has always backed our players as far as I can tell, just as he has with the last two managers. Those two managers have both let him down big time, costing us and therefore him, millions of pounds in the process. It's all very well for us to sit behind the keyboard and criticise. We can say today who we would want as the next manager, which players to buy, etc. Next week, we can change our minds, claiming that the manager hasn't a clue, or that the players are either crap or not trying hard enough. Nobody is going to hold us to account, or vilify us for making an error of judgement. TF has to live with his choices. Do what he can to help make them work, whilst at the same time, receive untold abuse from our fans for his troubles.

Think we should cut him some slack.

I agree with all of that. I actually like TF but he makes silly mistakes and my original point was that he should just get on with it and announce something when there's actually something to announce.

I also think he should be more ruthless in his approach, which he seems to be doing more recently.

          • Some people on here have very short memories.

No celebration parade when we win the Championship. Not a single penny invested in players after we are promoted, to maximize profit when the club is sold on. Utter contempt for the fans and their pathetic twenty quid. Constant interference in the dressing room.

Is that the type of owner some would prefer?
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

Compared to the current owners, who ensured that there were 40,000 flags for us to wave at Wembley, surely giving our players a boost when they took to the field. Got knows what the Derby fans and players thought about that. Doing what they could to help all concerned.

Bit of a different approach, wasn't it?

              • The constant criticism and moaning by a select few on here has gone beyond a joke now. What is it about TF that upsets them so much? As far as I can see, he gets stick because:

                1. All three managers under him have been given money to spend on players, which in many cases they wasted. NW is on record as saying he wished the current regime had taken over sooner than they had.

                2. TF alone seems to get stick because those managers and players lose games. As if he's the one who selects the players and tactics for games.

                3. The current training ground is deemed inadequate, and the academy is not producing many youngsters coming through the ranks. He tries to build a new training and youth complex and runs into opposition from the Warren Farm protestors who are doing battle with the local council. The scheme is held up because of this, and TF gets the blame.

                4. The capacity of LR has been almost halved in 40 years. The stadium is antiquated in a city where a number of clubs have built, or are looking to build 21st century stadiums. Some fans are extremely vocal in their opposition to him restoring that capacity in a new stadium close to the present one in a major new development. Since when did these protestors become elitists and decide they want to restrict the number of people wishing to watch QPR? Our record attendance is +35k. Was the stadium full of "plastics" and "tourists" back then?

                5. These same moaners think the club can sustain itself because they believe the offspring of current supporters can maintain current levels of support. If that's the case, where are the missing offspring of the 35k when we set the attendance record? If they exist, then where are they? If they don't exist, then it shows they don't bother with QPR or have gone off to support someone else. This therefore makes a mockery of the argument which says we don't need to grow and develop our fan base because it already exists.

                6. No club can legislate for poor management. This season alone, half a dozen prem managers have lost their jobs. In recent years, it's not only the strugglers that have made changes. It's happened at Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Man City. Yet TF is constantly blamed for these so-called professionals.

We've got a chairman leading a board that wants the best for our club, and wants to improve our fortunes on and off the pitch. They've invested their own money into the club, not borrowed it from dodgy lenders as in the past. They stand accused of profiteering from QPR which is complete nonsense. How can you profit from a club that has an old stadium, a poor training ground, little commercial value, and low fan base? If they are going to profit, it will only come from a completely rebuilt club that competes at the highest level.

And that can only be a good thing for QPR.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

                          • This is basically another negative thread made (otherwise known as someone elses opinion of course) where a select few can have a bash at the chairman for being open.

This thread should be re-named 'I don't like TF tweeting'.. which has a simple outcome.. Un-follow the bloke on Twitter if you don't like it.
By all means moan about it on here but at the same time you can cure your moaning by not looking at his tweets. The wonderful thing about Twitter is that you can, follow, un-follow and block.

Good post Richard but i dont believe the above statement. We've got a chairman leading a board that wants whats best for them in my opinion. OOC and the dosh is the priority while we are along for the ride. I understand the fans that want to move to a bigger stadium and the gamble to increase the fortunes of the club. I just dont trust the current board to be the people doing the gambling. The way i look at it they have had 3 years, spent millions and failed. Anyway for me personally i will never be convinced that moving from Loftus Rd is the right thing to do and am half convinced these numpty's are going to mess it up anyway so guess we just see :-) Good post though with some good points made.
