He was outmuscled for the goal. But distribution and confidence to colleagues great. At some point we all ended up as QPR fans. For some it was family, for some where we lived and who our friends were and for some it was some kind of madness. But here we are a merry band. Boutique, tribal and together.Comment

Yeah i guess. Think I was just disappointed at the lack of coverage we got really, I mean there were a hell of a lot of positives to take from that game today. Wouldve been nice to hear a few compliments.
Still stand by my opinion that Shearer is a knob though.Top Scorers 2018/2019

Goal aside John he was faultless in the air buddy kept the ball more with his head then his feet. I don't think he has a weakness in the air at all
One thing I would throw up is he must have some fitness level reserves to play two 45mins pre season and look fit as a butchers dog first game back. Few of us were worried by his lack of pre season action but it don't seem to have done him any harmComment

He was definitely at fault for the goal - ball watching when he should've been in front of Chester. I won't hold that against him though...if he plays like he did yesterday for the next 37 games, we may well have pulled off one of the greatest free transfers in football history. He was immense.Comment

Agree with most he is pure class. For me only bad player was Simpson. Faurlin had a blinder aswell IMO looked so goodComment

Ferdinand is getting absolutely destroyed in a lot of the press. I can just about understand it given he was massively at fault for the goal but I think if you analysed his whole game that was about the only time he put a foot wrong. Unfortunately his error and Austins missed penalty are the difference between winning and losing at this level.Comment

Indeed, other than the goal, his performance just oozed class. But then, so did Caulker's and Dunne's. Some say the first two were quality and the last "did ok". Just because he is our old cart horse doesn't mean you can't praise the fella. Ask Jelavic what he thought of the game - our "slow old donkey" had in in his pocket all afternoon
Massive credit to the back three, thought they looked a decent unit#standuptocancer

I thought he was unlucky with the goal. Chester will never score one like that again, he played a blinder. Run rio to the ground in circles and still got his head to the ball. Doubt many defenders would of prevented that without giving away a pen.Comment

Caulker and Ferdinand can hold their own against different styles of striker, which makes them must starts each week. Dunne was excellent, but he is more of a "horses for courses" choice for us now, due to his unfortunate combination of dominant aerial ability with no pace. It was a wise decision to pick him yesterday to nullify Jelavic, but I would like to think that Onuoha would return to the starting XI against a quick Spurs outfit.Indeed, other than the goal, his performance just oozed class. I'm no coach, but I thought Rio should've been square on to Chester - he turned side-on to him, which mean that he couldn't see him run from behind to in front...Comment
-
Think Rio is a superb signing, just a shame that goal conceded marred what was an otherwise very accomplished debut.Comment

Summed up perfectly. It was that fine.Ferdinand is getting absolutely destroyed in a lot of the press.
