They've bought a few players from Holland, experienced highly rated ones too. Plus they still have some decent youth coming through, will probably blood them in this season. Don't think they'll do as bad as everyone reckons. They'll have over £100m spending money once Schneiderlin and Rodriguez go...don't be surprised if they make a few big money signings.

Well I met a Southampton youth coach on a skiing holiday and I had a fascinating conversation with him. I won't go into all the in's and outs however I certainly realised my footballing knowledge was extremely basic and that just goes to show the attention to detail that Southampton give their young players and they still look to improve each year.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

They have the best academy in English football at present. Add to that the fact they will now get hold of any decent kid they want within a huge catchment area following the demise of Portsmouth and it bodes well for th future.

The only concern is if the owner is just cashing in on the main assets before selling the club. Quite possible because she only got the club when her dad died if I recall....?

Some will jump on me for this but the glee that they showed when we got relegated the deep joy they felt I have to say I could not give two s hits to whats going on there or if it results in their relegation one less team to compete with in my book

All the players have gone to bigger clubs, and for big fees. Can't blame the board for taking the money when players have already been unsettled by an approach. I think they'll be fine - they were never going to break into the top four so if they take that 90 mil, reinvest 20-30 of it in new players and stay up it looks like pretty good business considering where they're at as a club.

Are people aware Southampton have around the same amount of players as us at the moment.. They actually have 2 or 3 more as it stands but if they get rid of Rodriguez and Schneiderlin as well then we will pretty much have the same as it stands.

we have stayed away from the media attention of it at all because we have more or less just had loan players go back to their other clubs but the reality is we are in the same boat!
