Remy's "Transfer Clause"
Collapse

Remy obviously has a clause otherwise the club (TF) would have said he hasn't. The club is just dodging questions regarding it, which they should be.
I was delighted that Remy had next to no time in the World Cup. Clubs have had a year to buy the lad at a very reasonable rate, yet as far as we know, the club haven't even received an offer for him.
If, and it's a big if, we can keep him then it would be a massive boost for the club.Comment

Why would we renegotiate a release clause? Apart from anything else that's not really the way a contract works, you agree these sort of things before signing and then they are set in stone. It wouldn't surprise me if there were clauses that expired or changed after time but to renegotiate terms midway through a contract would be very bizarre.Comment

Poor bit of journalism.......you can't just increase a release clause. If it was as easy as that then every club would increase the release clause on their players at the first sign of interest from another club!found it.

my best guess tarbie. is that remys release clause was for only the summer transfer window when we were relegated for 8mil.
once that window closed his release clause ended. thus remy and qpr negotiated a new clause in october for 10mil and inserted that into his contract with agreement from both parties.nsa/cia spy on this..............┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐Comment

I cannot see how any of us would have a clue as to what is and isn't in his contract.
There may or may not be a release clause, if there is one it may or may not have time restraints and it may be higher or lower than £10m.
What does seem likely though, is that if there is one, it is not as attractive to potential purchasers as some may think.
Or maybe there is one. Maybe it is £2m. And maybe despite every other club triggering it, he is digging his heels in because he wants to stay.

Yeah, like when Liverpool rejected Arsenal when they triggered Suarez release clause.I think a lot of people are forgetting something about contracts.
There is always room for maneuver if the parties involved are willing to deal. Countless examples of contract stipulations being quietly shoved to one side.... Plus there is another scenario: Remy being loaned again. It could happen.
If the club can convince Remy to stay (if offers are received) then hell yeah, he is the perfect player for us. He's a Harry signing and he played well last time around. If he was here the full season I think we have stayed up. We needed goals which Taarabt and others could not deliver enough of.Comment

Tony Fernandes has been on Instagram and basically said Remy is staying. I can't post a link as I'm on my phone but he first posted saying that we have world class players that won't be leaving. Then posted a pic of Remy and said he is one of the world class players. Make of that what you will. If you are a member of the QPR fans group on Facebook you will see itComment

Wow if that's the case and we keep hold of him that would be better then any signing we could have made...Comment
