Offer made for Caulker

It would have been good to have all on board for the first say of pre season, we have already started preseason slightly later than most.

I hope we get both these guys, add Donaldson and Elmer we could be set for a few years.

Yep agree. For all we know our first choice centre back cd get a crunching tackle first game of the season and be out for nine months. Am sure with sub appearances, cup games etc we will need every single one of them. But as things stand unless he has to stand in at right back I can't see Nedhum starting as many games as some think (and I say that as someone who rates the player).

Never concrete until the paperwork is registered but it is what I've heard and I believe it is very likely.

Interested in Mellows post as he seemed to have some info, but he answered and it appears to be his opinion. What I can tell you is he spoke to Everton some time ago and they wouldn't match his demands, so unless a massive change in their stance, which is unlikely to happen, he won't go there. Liverpool had a passing interest but have set their target as Lovens from Southampton. We meet the asking price and he was happy with our offer, I have been told it's all agreed and will be announced soon, probably along with Ferdinand, although that came from someone who whilst they have no reason to lie havn't told me stuff before. My trusted source did confirm the agreement and that it would be completed but with no time frame, which either means they are waiting to confirm both Ferdinand and Caulker together or other clubs (Palace) are trying to sneak in. Still think it likely he will come to us but you never know for sure until he's signed the paperwork and I don't have that knowledge, I do however know that the bid for Lascelles is additional to Caulker and not a back up. The back up being Dawson.

For what it's worth, I have heard through old MGN colleagues that Caulker is done, an offer has also gone in for Dawson (who has apparently told Spurs he will not consider leaving London) with the Ferdinand deal up in the air....

Would be amazing to get caulker and lascelles. Lascelles learning off both rio and caulker and then being more prominent next year. Or perhaps tony has vetoed rio and wants the younger two. Either way if this has any legs mate and we did pull off all 3 I really think ned could be moved on imo.

If all of your info is correct that leaves us with Dunne, Hill, Onouha, Ferdinand, Caulker and Lascelles in the squad potentially. Now I doubt Clint will be anything more than cover and an experienced head around the club, you can also argue that Onouha could cover at right back (which I don't believe he can, useless at full back in my opinion). That still leaves us with a lot of central defenders. I have a sneaky suspicion that we would be looking to offload 1 or more.....with Dunne and Hill having just signed new deals (albeit that Dunnes was due to a clause in his contract) you'd have to suspect that Nedum's days may be numbered!
