It's about revenue a club makes, it doesn't specify how. Gate receipts form part of that. Then it's not as simple as looking at capacity because clubs having different pricing policies also, hence Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea probably don't make huge amounts less than Man Utd on gate receipts because their average ST prices are much higher.

There must be certain limitations as to where the revenue comes from though Del. Otherwise, Air Asia could pay us whatever they felt like, instead of QPR paying the fine.

That's the problem as I see it, the big spenders will use loopholes and just push up parent company sponsorship, but I think the authorities are trying to restrict this, otherwise what stops Tony putting Air Asia, or Mittal putting Mittal on the main stand and as far as the books are concerned, paying £100m for the privilege? There are clubs that wont care and just pay their fines... With the likes of Man City and PSG, what's a fine to them even if it runs into the tens of millions?

As for us, when in the prem the gate money is pittance compared to other revenue streams coming into the club, mainly from TV, but also sponsorship.

As already mentioned, Ashley Williams will probably get offered a new improved contract from Swansea.
Supposed interest from other clubs will get him that new improved contract and also why would they want to lose their skipper.

Apart from the fact that the Club have never officially stated an interest in the player - all the speculation is media driven - its only about 2.5 weeks since we knew which division we would be playing in next year so even if there was genuine interest, to suggest it is a long drawn out saga is mindbogglingly overstated

There are controls over what are called 'related party transactions' (where a company not so distant from the owners pay silly money for very little). Looking at the champions league ffp, it seems that the controls aren't particularly well applied especially if you're psg.

Some of the stuff about high wages ignores the point that a lot of the high earners were available on free transfers.

Take Green for example... We signed him up for 2 years at £50k per week, which is expensive apparently. If we'd bought him for £4m and paid him £10k a week, everyone would say that that was an amazing bargain. But... The point is, in both cases, the Green costs us exactly the same amount both in cash over the 2 years and in the accounts for each year.
