Good thread, some decent suggestions. Some of the lower league players I don't know enough about to comment but these are the TYPE of players we need to be thinking about. You either spend serious money on someone proven, fit and in the peak of their career (ala Jordan Rhodes) or you go bargain basement for up and coming. Yes, you need a few wise old heads but we have more grand old men than the House of Lords. We badly need an injection of youth, hunger and fight.Comment

If we go up:
Moussa Dembele (Fulham one 17 yr old)
Harry Maguire (sheff utd)
Ryan Gauld (dundee)
Then a few big signings:
Zaha's avaliable at £5m
Gaston Ramirez (Wont get ravel, too expensive. Ramirez hardly set the prem alight with the saints, but there's a big player in there somewhere)
Peter Crouch
Mile Jedinak (Strange one maybe but I rate him highly)
Cheeky £6m bid for Andros Townsend, not really getting a look in at spurs.
And a decent young(ish) left back.Last edited by SuperHoopNik; 31-03-2014, 10:26 PM."When you went to the corner and saw our fans celebrating the way they were you just wanted to be part of it" - Shaun Derry after we beat the scum 1-0Comment

Some good suggestions and some very bad!
David Perkins is a prospect is he? At 31 years of age and spent his whole career playing for tin pot clubs! I agree we need to go down a different route but that is way off the mark!
Also you'd have to have two completely different lists of targets.
If we go up:
David Marshall (Cardiff)
Bardsley (Sunderland), Caulker (Cardiff), Taylor (Newcastle), Ridgewell (WBA), Bertrand (Chelsea)
Sinclair (Loan, City), Diame (West Ham), De Guzman (Swansea/Villarreal), Livermore (Spurs), Snodgrass (Norwich), Moses (Loan, Chelsea)
McCormack (Leeds) Carlton Cole (West Ham), Fraizer Campbell (Cardiff)
15 signings, which is a hell of a lot, however, very much needed as we'll be losing a similar amount of players. 13 of the 15 are UK born players, something that is imperative when in a battle to stay in the league. I'd then have a squad looking like:
GK: Green & Marshall
RB: Simpson & Bardsley
LB: Ridgewell & Bertrand
CB: Hill, Onuoha, Caulker & Taylor
Wingers: Phillips, Hoilett, Traore, Sinclair, Snodgrass, Moses.
CM: Barton, Faurlin, Diame, De Guzman, Livermore
Forwards: Austin, McCormack, Cole, Campbell
Comfortably stay up imo and a good strong UK based squad. Our wage bill would be at a far more average level.
Out: Cesar, Murphy, Dunne, Hughes, Young (Luke, remember him!) Ekotto, Morrison, Carroll, SWP, Jenas, Kranjcar, Diakite, Park, Granero, Mbia, Taarabt, Henry, Ephraim, Benayoun, O'Neil, Remy, Johnson, Keane, Doyle, Zamora, Dellatorre, Maiga.
Unbelievably 27 players!
If we fail to go up:
I actually really fear for us and can't really offer any potential signings as a lot will depend on clearing the above out!Comment
