But he shouldn't have got a 12 game ban should he, and without it he would or should have been in the squad

Anyone that has played football at any kind of level appreciates flair players. Plenty of headless chicken in the lower leagues mate so I recommend you get yourself down Woking with your way of thinking mate
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The ban was fair at that stage, three red card offences. You can certainly argue that the red that he got earlier in the season was unfortunate, and that the retaliation to Tevez whacking him was natural, what he did afterwards was stupid and violent and done with no consideration of the impact on the club.

Slightly off topic now, and been done several times over, so I'm done with that tangent at this point.

But with Taarabt i'm not sure even when he was playing at his best, you never really new who was going to turn up. Now don't get me wrong i'm not for one second questioning Taarabt's talent. He was a huge huge part of our promotion season.
With Barton you know you will get a seven out of 10 performance. In the Prem he looked a bit out of his depth, in the Championship he looks very good (not as good as Tom Ince, but extremely solid). Adel in the Championship he won half our games virtually single handed!

so you wouldn't have had your hero "Joey" back because he didn't want to play for us either?

Massive difference between joey and adel is that joey will always give 100% on and off the field for the club. Hence its easier to forgive him his misdemeanors.

But you and others are the ones that are dragging up the Barton "crimes" and going back over all the old ground. Basically you know you're prejudiced argument against JB is exactly that...prejudice pure and simple.

tbf this actually is true to an extent.

When he signed for Fulham I think he said he wanted to play at the top level, but hoped to return. Words to that effect at least.

Just because we often end up on the opposite side of an argument doesn't mean I do it deliberately Dave, any more than you do. Only one of us repeatedly makes it personal.

I have made my feelings about Joey the person and Joey the player clear many many times. It was relevant in the case of Adel, because a lot of the reasons given for people not wanting him back, applied to Joey too before his triumphant return.

Don't think its trust,Mr Redknapp just don't like him as a footballer or a person.

If Dave Sexton had done the same with Stan he would never of played any games for him at rangers.

In the bookies until 2.30 and would then turn up and get changed

So does Karl Henry. But any successful team tends to have a mixture of flair and force.

Perhaps. But the point I have made several times which the other side don't have any answer to is that their main objection to Adel is that he supposedly didn't want to play for us in the Champ, but nor did their hero Joey who was actually far more outspoken about it.

I'm absolutely in agreement on that point. The difference being that Adel found a club, and Joey didn't.
