Yeah no harm to have sub appearances in a few games. It's people saying he should be starting each week purely on the basis on that 1 goal from 2 yards out.

Our problem is service as much as it is lack of strikers. Even with Austin/Austin and AJ up top we create very little so even if we did play the kid up front, if he gets no service its no use to anyone.

      Rotherham sign QPR striker

Rotherham United have completed the loan signing of QPR striker Tom Hitchcock on an initial one-month deal, and he will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's game against Crewe Alexandra.

Put it another way, what's given you the impression that he is ready for the championship?

He scores goals for fun, scored a winner for us, we have no-one else to try.. If it was any other club in the Champ, he would be given a chance...

He may be loaned to a better team but why not loan him back to Crewe.. There unbeaten in like 4, he'd scored 3or4 goals for them in space of few weeks.
Why make him start again at another club, get to know the players etc. all over again.. Just think his getting treated unfairly.

Dave, you can say im moaning again.. I don't really care mate.. I just prefer to not sit on the fence and accept, were 3rd in the table its fine.

That's a fair enough view but its clear that HR wants to play one up front and that one will be Austin. So Hitchcock will be a sub behind a fit AJ so surely its better to get some games under your belt rather than getting splinters in your backside on our bench?

Hitchu going out on loan is only good news if we've got someone (or 2) incoming.

Having no fit strikers was absolute ******** over xmas and a feat never repeated hopefully. If we have players coming in then playing reg. for a League 1 side would be better for his development than sitting on the bench and not playing for us.

Not disputing the fact him going out on loan to play is a bad idea...

But it is a bad idea when we have no strikers.. Sign someone first and then loan.. Never logical with Rangers

Or we've got someone in the pipeline. Its only an initial 1 month loan so if things go pear shaped on any potential deal(s) then he'll be back just after the window closes. He'll get a few games in the next month so if we do need him back he'll have been playing regularly.
