Could it be Harry saw this as an easier game and decided we would have more than enough in the tank so gave Carroll a run out, maybe why he played Zamora as well but had the balls to change that.

3 games this week so i think there's game time for all. Think we might see changes in the next 2....maybe resting Clint, or Dunne for one of em.Obviously Jnr will be out for one or both. Kranjcar i think will make an appearance in one. Henry will be playing i should imagine. Gotta give Carroll time, same with Phillips. We've got a good squad, and work ethic running through it

Care to explain how representing your country, at whatever level, is not top class?
Ok... So if you count top class as
Being the epitome of football, how many England u21's would get
Into a champions league contending side?

Think everyone that's seen him through the seasons at youth level know this lads a talent, a few are concerned about the physicality of the championship, but he'll get used to it. Going to take 6/8 games to get up to speed and this is a very quick direct league with not that much time given to players on the ball. Im a bit surprised Redknapp started with him against Birmingham, i thought he would have bought him on as a sub and maybe started him against Brighton where there style he is more suited to, they pass it give you a bit more time on the ball, but he'll get used to this league its nothing like what he's been used to over the last few years developing in the youth leagues, strength wise will be a massive learning kerb , but you got to try them or your never know, still reckon he'll be a top player in 2/3 years time injury permitting.

                    spot on.

I was surprised he even got a chance to play given the circumstances.

Let's judge him and Carroll after a run of games.

If only the answer was, "not very well"....

This was posted by W12 Ranger............"Phillips looks pony based on first impressions, has a bad touch and bottled every pass, tackle and run."
If that is not a condemnation of a player who has been out with a broken arm for a while I don't know what is.......hence my response to him and stanistheman's agreement.

but he was correct, if he played a blinder i'm sure he would have said, the OP could not make the match and wanted to know ,i'm sure we will start to see an improvement ,but that was not the question

OK, fair comment, but IF he had played a blinder, pretty sure W12 would have found something else to whinge about...couldn't help himself!

that's out of order ,as i'm sure he gave Les Ferdinand a kind word after an hatrick against Everton a little while ago
