Don't know wether to blame us moving, us being proper toilet, or having Sky tv. Whatever it was, it didn't go to plan or history before it.

So what about these supporters that have supported numerous teams over the years and then decide on rangers? Know a bloke that supported Spurs then Charlton up until his mid 20's then started to go to rangers with a mate.... be honest now would you treat him as a proper rangers fan? Or would there be a small percentage of doubt in your mind when comparing him to a rangers fan who grew up rangers?

Think it's a few things...
- The biggest factor is probably lack of success compared to our neighbours. We've more or less floundered over the last 20 years while the scum have become one of the biggest clubs in the world and the fools have consistently been in the Premier League.
- Changing demographics within the area. When coupled with the first point it means when people move in they're more likely to support someone else, and when families move away obviously they stop going and their kids probably start supporting someone else.
- The top teams are bigger than ever. I think the support is probably more disproportionate in favour of the Man Uniteds, Liverpools etc. than it ever has been before because they have success, generally play attractive football and have way more resources than anyone else.

Truth is I'd welcome anyone... not down to me to tell others who to follow is it?

Originally posted by vblockranger View PostPersonally i wouldnt treat them as a proper fan, give them the benfit of the doubt and all that but your football team is like your religion or nationality and anyone who changes their allegiance should be looked upon with suspicion imo.

Originally posted by jimmycarter View PostNever met anyone like that before, most of those change club warnkers, always chose a decent team, not the likes of us. What I do hate though, is people who I have lived in and around London all their lives and they say they support Liverpool or Man United. I'd rather chat to a life long Chels than one of them in the battle.

Never understood the concept of suporting a team just because they are winning or top of the league. Maybe it's being old school or being born and brought up in an area that makes me old school tribal and a family line that made me QPR even though I no longer live in the area I still hold an st I'm proud of my roots. Today's kids are much more mobile and have more access to media and global coverage that they are swamped with the Manu's, City's Arsenals or whoever that they feel outcasts if they don't follow one of the big boys praised by the press. Following Any side outside of this fairy tale puts them in the class of sadoes or losersand not many have the balls to stand up and be different. Welcome to the modern world
