    Joey for Captain?

When the transfer window shuts if Joey Barton is still a Ranger I firmly believe he should be made club captain.

I appreciate the effort Clint Hill has made and it is his reward but Joey with all his experience and authority can be so more influential from midfield.
I base my opinion on the positives that Joey [B]is[B] already bringing to our team and I mean no disrespect to Clint Hill as he has been immense through all the turmoil that has gone on.

I believe Harry never expected Joey to be playing the part he is when he made Clint the captain what now seems a long time ago. A nice dilema to have!

    Anyone agree or disagree?

No thanks - Barton's a ticking time bomb, we all know it, no matter how much we don't wanna believe it.

Great that he's putting in some decent performances and behaving like a decent human being at the moment - but is it gonna last?

Clint has more than deserved his Captaincy role and he has always been and always will be, a much more positive and steadier influence on all around him.

      Clint for me thanks.

Disagree. Think a captain needs not just leadership but a bit of maturity. Clint has both those traits - Joey doesn't.

I'm a huge fan of Joey's but let's not go ott, after all he WAS disrespectful to QPR even if he's okay now

Also changing captain you run the risk of upsetting the old captain & the players... FM taught me that , but seriously though its true you can upset the team
          Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
          And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Plenty of other good candidates in the team now too. Dunne & O'Neil to name just two.

Joey has a lot more to do before he deserves the armband in my opinion.

Warnock like this sort of statement i dont agree.....Hill , Dunne, Henry as well as Barton all leaders... Even the likes of Green , Johnson and god help me for saying it zamora can lead on the pitch. I like the example of Neddy though who this season will prove to be the best CB in the league.

Agree with sentiment but uneccesary risk IMHO. Do not need armband to lead!!

Stupid idea to change it. Clint is a leader and someone who wants to be at the club. Barton might be playing half decent but he's got alot of making up to do and that starts with showing some loyalty

A lot of people are saying we should buy someone better than Hill to replace him cos he's too slow though. Can't be captain from the subs bench.

Thanks for the replies and opinions.
All good comments and in retrospect I can see Clint Hill is the right man at this time to lead the club we all support on the pitch.
It is all about the present so good luck to Clint going forward.
However, here is a poser, should Clint be injured or suspended who might wear the captains band then?
A couple of good calls for Ned.

I thought we voted before the match who plays?? That's odd.
Oh and for what its worth, even though he was like Hoilett and ten times better than swp for the goal today, I still think someone better/younger than him will be purchased and he will become a sub in the near future.
