Actually, Ireland IS part of the British isles, but not part of the UK of GB/NI, so yes, they are foreign.

Then again, to me, the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish are Johnny Foreigners too

And Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, but not Great Britain.

British and Irish players fit in well in the Championship, but in the PL you need the quality of foreigners.

That's what I said. NI is part of the UK of GB/NI, but the Republic of Ireland isn't. Therefore it's foreign.

Ok lets stop being pedantic these post get totally pointless.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

See what you mean Richard, Geographically, but not politically........maybe I worded it wrong, should have said UK not BI.
                              I stand corrected.
