People don't realise that nothing gets done until the end of the transfer window. It is the same every year.

Well almost nothing gets done at QPR.

Man City, Swansea Norwich amongst others in the Prem League have done a fair bit of business and a number of Championship clubs have also managed to bring in players.

As usual, QPR drag along at a snail's pace.

I accept players ahd to be shifted out in order to free up the wage bill, but Bothroyd, Campbell, Cisse and Samba going must have freed up(if their rumoured wages are close) at least £210k a week. Surely Simpson, Dunne and now Henry are not even on a third of that. If they are, QPR must be bonkers.

Never mind If we manage to make good signings within fortnight even after the season had started. The Championship is a long and open league with 46 games. You can be in the relegation zone in October and still can go up by May. The important thing is to bring the right players not rush towards signing anyone like we did last season.

Indeed. Weren't Palace 19th in December and went up via the playoffs under Dowie also.....

The Championship is very much a marathon. That said, if we can get a decent lead that would be preferable....

Would take it all with a sack of salt tbh. Despite all his talk of change he has been at the club nearly a year and nearly 2 transfer windows and has basically kept the Hughes first team squad together and shipped out the reserves who didn't play anyway.

In my opinion, which may well be different to yours, Redknapp has so far been a total failure.

Fair enough to blame Hughes for an awful lot, but Redknapp hardly improved matters, did he? And he had more than half a season to have an effect.

I really want him to do well for us and always have, despite not rating the bloke. But so far I've seen him get us relegated without a fight, open his big gob once too often, try to shift the blame onto others as he is well known to do, fail to bring in his preferred transfer targets and here we are, 5 days away from the start of the season with, by his own admission, 4 or 5 players short of what he wanted.

Maybe he will put that right this week, who knows. And let's all hope he is successful. But one of the reasons that many felt he would be good for us is that players want to play for him and we would have a better chance of attracting them. Can't say I have seen too much evidence of it so far, but we can live in hope.

Raises some good points about our apparent non readiness for the new season and our lack of changes to a squad which failed so miserably last season.

The transfer window should only be open a week.

Well said,Yousef. Besides, we have to admit that not that many players want to come to QPR purely of sporting reasons alone. Given our many seasons as a club in constant turmoil, Some(Err,quite many) will also have to do a lot of thinking ahead of a move to us.But on the whole, If we do it right this time, it may change our legacy(?) for the better.

Main objective is to get points on the board and get the right players in that will improve the squad before the window shuts.

There are plenty of other Championship sides that havent bought players yet.

Why are some people moaning about no signings? Aren't these the same people who moaned when TF gave managers money to spend?

Can't have it both ways. Either we invest in the squad, or go with the players we have and look round for free players, those that other clubs don't want. Oh, and we severely limit the value of each contract. Let's see how well we do then.

Try a month or so - window closes on the 2nd September - and they have to name them after that. We on the other hand can pick up their cast off's as loan signings any time until about Bonfire night
