I don't understand the O2 comparison, from my understanding the government paid the build and all other associated costs. They were desperate to get rid of it, AEG took a white elephant (albeit an iconic structure) off their hands. AEG had massive previous entertainment experience from the USA.
Us on the other hand are a rather small football club that's just about to get relegated with debts of approx £100m and owned by a bloke who made his money in the airline industry.
We will have to build our complex from scratch with little if any government help, taking into consideration the sale of LR, our debts before a ball is kicked in our new stadium is going to be approx £250m at the least. Ok if your real or utd who can absorb such debts but not a club whose fanbase number 15k.
For all those who say TF knows what he's doing or he has the best people around him. This might be the case but he had so called expert advisers when he signed MH and got his agent closely involved in transfers, he also sanctioned the purchase of Bosingwa and AJ. He said he made mistakes, what is about to be embarked on unless properly advised could be a disaster.
Wasn't it Amit who said we should take things slowly.

i dont think any of us are sure its all going to be ok,nobody can predict the future.The debts,(part of it anyway)is owed to investors in the club.We need a new stadium,the club have worked out the best way to finance it is to turn it into something that might just attract new investors,or convince the current shareholders to invest more money
this has got to be better than building a stand alone stadium

the board owe the debt to themselves. we are owned by a bloke who made his money from a steel conglomerate and another who made his money from shipping and ports. Then there is TF
and KM who own tune group which is more than just an airline. Global entertainment including ownership of the venues is part of TF and KM's plan. I think they own an arena or two already
