true..i am not sure that in 40 years time Fans will be talking about Charlie in the same way they do about Stan Bowles , Rodney Marsh, Gerry francis, Alan McDonald, Clive allen, Les Ferdinand, etc True legends.
but he will be in the same way people talk about..John Byrne , simon Stainrod, Gary bannister, a sort of sub legend if you like. Another season, 50 goals and then maybe..

Probably right tbf, but as I say, it may well be because all of the above mentioned were before my time so, in comparison to the players I've seen over the years, he is a bit of a legend.

He was a fans favourite, but I do not think he was here long enough to warrant the legend status.

Not many more legends will be created at Rangers with the game now changing and players moving on for money etc. So YES he is a modern day legend in my eyes.

Thing is in my generation right now Charlie has to be up there with les.

We haven't been blessed with the likes of Bowles and marsh ect...if we go through another baton period than in 20 years I probably will be talking about les and Charlie becoEe in the near 30 years I have supported the club they have been the best strikers.

Charlie also finished 4th top goal scorer on the orem I. A team that got relegated so he's up there for me.

I dont think after 2 1/2 years you can be classed as a legend.

Fantastic player for us and one of the most important we've had in recent times, but not sure he was here long enough to fall into the legend category.

Handled himself very well when here and never got any negative press during testing times. Credit to the man and i hope he tears it up at Southampton.

Not for me. I'm 28. I loved watching chaz just the same as i did adel but neither make it into the legendary status i hold the likes of Macca in. For me to be a legend you need to be at a club for a longer period of time.

I was going to say that to be a legend a player needs to have played more than 150 games for the R's.
I would say Clint Hill is more a ledge than Austin. Austin was good though, just injured too much and probably knew he was here as a stepping stone to a bigger club.

Legend gets banded about too much. How many have we had at Qpr? Bowles, Marsh, McDonald and Ferdinand for definate. Players like Adel and Austin very good, but not around long enough to be legs.

No disrespect to him as think he has done great for us but legend should be reserved for those almost once in a generation type players. Chaz did great for us and conducted himself well. Another few years and could maybe have earned legend status but for me will be remembered as a good player with a good attitude. Wish him all the best.

If Chaz aint one then Adel def ain't one from what people are saying, yet those people WILL think Adel is a legend...

Charlie will not be remembered in the legend class as he simply was not here long enough but easily the best forward we have had here for years plus in a very lean period for this club. I wish him every success though as when he played and was fit he would give 100%, the great night against Wigan will always be remembered but he is not up there with Stanley, Rodney, Gerry and Macca but more with Clive Allen, Stainrod and Bannister for me. But I hope he gets his England cap now and pushes on.

We have to find an alternative now but with only 4 million banked who we get will be nowhere near as good. But that is more about the state of our club who I feel are just letting us down more and more.

I'm 32 in a couple of weeks, for me the players I see as legends are the likes of Macca, Sir Les, etc.

Chaz was a great striker for us that is all imo. Sir Les was a better striker imo, and in recent times Adel I would say gave me the best entertaining moments as a Rangers fan. When my boy is old enough to come down the Rangers or ask questions I doubt I would mention Austin when I talk about 'in my day'.

Great striker though and will do well with the Saints. Good luck to him.
