When my boy is old enough to come down the Rangers or ask questions I doubt I would mention Austin when I talk about 'in my day'.

Great striker though and will do well with the Saints. Good luck to him.
I'd agree with that and your point about Adel is relevant, because he is without doubt the most entertaining player I've seen at Rangers since Stan Bowles, and gave us (arguably) our most enjoyable season in recent history. Charlie's tenure has been too short and too limited to give him legend status, and as others have said, he fits into a kind of sub-legend category. It's shame really that such a talented and likeable player as Charlie is didn't feature in a better team for us.

Great player yes but Legend no ! We will see less and less legends develop at clubs now, as players don't tend to stay at clubs long enough to be deemed a legend. Best goalscorer in recent years but lets not kid ourselves he was always going to move on eventually and unless we were still in the Prem, challenging for mid table obscurity then he would have gone whatever.

No, not a legend in my eyes. I think it takes something far more special to be a legend at the club.

Out of the current crop of players I feel maybe only Faurlin has a chance of that title and that is only because of longevity which plays an important part in that status.

Top striker but legend? Not for me.

Out of the recent crop of players the only one who gets legend status in my eyes is Clint Hill - bleeds QPR.

I would agree that he isn't a legend, but I wouldn't say he is nowhere near...

I think had he stayed for the end of this year and 1 or 2 years after he would have easily been a legend for us. He was on target and netting well over 100 goals in 2 more seasons which is a huge amount for most clubs especially QPR who havent had a top striker in recent years.

His goals got us up in his first year, that also adds to it. Had he stayed his goals would have been just as important I feel.

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

He's an honest pro who hasn't forgotten his roots and has morals. He scored a goal every two games and is by far our best striker since Ferdinand. Let's be brutally honest though, since 94/95 when Les left we have mainly been turd so he hasn't had too much to beat. He also stayed what? 3 seasons? He will always been remembered but unless through all the turd that this club has been through on and off the field since the mid 90's and we've dropped our standards significantly, Charlie is not quite a QPR legend in my eyes.

For anyone in their 20's or younger I can imagine he would be and respect that. Hill & maybe Derry aside who else comes close to him this century?

not for me , good striker and some memorable goals , wish him luck on his journey . to be a legend at a club you should be winning trophies.

Lee Cook. Anyone that gives their signing on fee to the club when they are in financial difficulties is a definite legend.

In that case we won't ever have any more legends

Although tbf, Austin won the playoffs with us.

Surely we are talking about as a player? Not for me.
