Southampton built their team around Le Tiss and stayed in the PL far longer than they should have. Look at Bolton overperforming with Jayjay Okocha, etc. You could just as easily have said "one moment of genius from him and we'll be rewarded big time!!"

How many years has it taken joey barton to mature? I love joet but he only has made a mends by last years display. He came in and done a job and all is forgiven. Adel deserves the same chance imo if harry wants to give it him. I think adel is a genuine talent but I dont think harry wants him around and thats what it will ultimately come down to.

Spot on Maidstone. The same fans who (rightly) praise Barton for gaining redemption won't allow Taraabt to even try. When "Joey" was not much older than Adel, he was still stubbing cigars out in the eyes of team-mates....

Sorry mate but everything in your post is complete and utter 'nonsense'.... 1st you start by babbling on about some workhorse rubbish, then laughably you try compare the child that is Adel to a not only a 'professional' footballer but to someone like Matt Le Tissier, and then well quite frankly by the time I got to Okocha I'd stopped taking you seriously all together!

But if you feel we could build a successful Premiership team around Adel, well that sort of explains your 'nonsense' post.

Adel has flopped three years in succession in the Premiership. Maybe time to move on? He is far better suited to a slower paced league.

People say he was one of our better players after we went up. He had a handful of decent games. A lot of the time looked hopelessly out of his depth.

I have some great memories of him from a few years back but so much has happened I don't even look on him as an Rs player. I doubt whether he does either. The only reason he's still here is nobody else will take him on. That to me speaks volumes if he is so great at the top level. He is here in name only.

Big difference between Joey and Adel is the former has proved he can cut it at Premiership level and he grafts. I'm not Joey's greatest fan and think he's thick as a brick but can't fault his effort. Also took balls to come back after the way he behaved towards us while at Marseilles. Could have sulked and refused and made it impossible. I actually think he has learned from it all.

Joey was no better than Adel in the Prem. Joey did really well last season in the Championship, and surprised me with his improvement in temperament. Let's not rewrite history though and suggest that an improved half a dozen games at the end of the season was 'cutting it at Premiership level'. Especially when that period of improvement ended with him losing his temper and getting sent off in a huge match, and then losing his **** altogether and getting a 12 match ban, which ended with us packing him off to France.

Barton struggled for most of that season, and picked up for the last few games. Adel was one of our most productive players in the Prem, despite being disappointing in terms of the expectations we all had for him, along with some silly tantrums.

The fans gave Barton a chance, and a thouroughly undeserved (at the time) heroes welcome. The poll suggests that most would give the same chance to Adel.

I would love to see him at Rangers again, he has given me far greater pleasure watching him in his pomp than everyone bar Les I think, I also think he has a genuine affection for the club, but I don't see him coming back while Harry is here. Too much history between them.
