Are we setting our stall out for mid table mediocrity next season? I understand that we need to cut costs and get rid of the high earners but surely we need to keep some of our better players and buy a few decent proved players to mount a challenge for the play offs at least, thought the parachute payments were to help keep our players although it will probably pay for any fine that we get.

By few decent proven players do you mean top championship players? They cost a lot of money, Rhodes for example 10 million! No thanks. We are doing the right thing for once. Signing players that have the potential to be top championship players and are young enough that if we make it back to the Prem can make the step up. Btw i think we will be play off contenders.Originally posted by shanns View PostAre we setting our stall out for mid table mediocrity next season? Why? That's so defeatist, as of to say 'cos i think we are going down'.Originally posted by Kirill View PostI'd take mid-table finish in an instant.
That will never ever ever happen and all the doom mongers in the world saying it, thinking it or god forbid hoping it, could and would never make it happen.
Us and derby are the only two clubs buying players to push for instant automatic, but some think we are going down another division. Yeah alright.
