In the window, MC seemed to have identified our clear lack of a central striker and signed Frey. For whatever reasons Frey has not played much but in his absence, no attempt is ever made to fill that most important space. Week after week, this crucifies us. I am aware that we don't have an alternative and this leads us into going into games with an odd shape formation. It's a little late now to tinker very much but we should have tried somebody up front. I suggested Dunne once as I thought he could be a handful. Over the course of this season, I find it surprising that we are where we are, having only rarely played somebody in this most important position.

I'm not sure some of the posters on here understand how diabolical we were today, it was a "Vauxhall Motors" display. Basically, we will not take another point if we play like that, irrespective of how disinterested our opponents are. We are in deep trouble.
Preston game is massive. They travel to Saints on Tuesday and we have 7 days to shake off this disastrous week. We have to turn up big time in the stands and on the pitch. We cannot play 4 CBs across the back, 2 holding midfielders and 3 "No.10s"... it’s s much as I rate MC just not working. Marti needs to chuck his playbook and principles out of the window and treat this like a cup-final that must be won, back to basics, no quarter given, literally a war.
PNE massive probably the only game I fancy us in however we have to turn up and we’re not that’s his job
there kids playing park football with better technique and crossing ability

The bigger we as fans make the game the poorer our performances on the pitch seem to be
The lack of shots is a major concern - a number of times today we just wanted to see one of our players put their foot through the ball and at least make their keeper work. Every time we were getting into decent shooting positions we seemed to want another touch. Very symptomatic of the players lacking confidence
I thought Colback played well as did Willock in the 2nd half. Other than that slim pickings

Marti get it wrong or did the players not show up?
We are really really gonna regret those Wednesday and Plymouth perfomrances. We would be safe, done and dusted by now.
Feels like some of the team have downed tools.

What confuses me is, JCS didn't play against Plymouth because Marti was worried about a slight injury. If so, why not take him off at 3-0 when today's game was already lost? Rest him when he's needed and play him when he isn't?? I know goal difference could be important though.

Martin’s not going to change his mind on the team after one bad result. Am l missing something here??
