Fabulous win on the back of two really bad results - and a great performance to boot. Fair play to Warburton for mixing things up. Our starting 11 looked the best yet for me. Very happy R tonight. COYRs!!!!!

I think MW has to be given lots of credit for this win, he freshened things up with 3 changes, we looked very good passing the ball around and were rewarded with the 2 goals, some of the passing was fabulous to see, we did lots of it for the 1st part of the second half, remember they had no more subs to make and we made them chase the ball, for the last 15 minutes or so we defended stoutly and hit them on the counter and took advantage of our subs, it was a good game plan that was well executed and a joy to watch!@gatorTFCComment

Looking forward to replay. Great that there are some positions and formations that can be changed out. Central midfield and defence have some depth, need to find some help for the wingabcks and get at least one of the other strikers firing. Be good to Kelman given some time off the bench.I think MW has to be given lots of credit for this win, he freshened things up with 3 changes, we looked very good passing the ball around and were rewarded with the 2 goals, some of the passing was fabulous to see, we did lots of it for the 1st part of the second half, remember they had no more subs to make and we made them chase the ball, for the last 15 minutes or so we defended stoutly and hit them on the counter and took advantage of our subs, it was a good game plan that was well executed and a joy to watch!Comment

It was actually 3, maybe 4, posters who directly suggested Pearson as a potential replacement for Warburton. These mentions were made over a 3 month period which included the months of November and December when we failed to win a single game.
I don't think it was unreasonable to discuss Warburton's performance and future at that juncture. Normally, if anybody questions Warburton's status as manager the usual suspects respond with "who would you have then"? This is quite a reductive question, maybe designed to deflect the discourse away from discussing Warburton or to posit the idea that a manager of Warburton's calibre is the best a piddly club like ours should expect? Whatever, THEY ask for some names so some names get tossed in the ring. I don't think this equated to any sort of groundswell of agitation to get Pearson in - it was merely a name bandied about amongst others
Beyond that I dunno what your facile Pearson V Warburton point is? One gaffer with nigh on 2 years knowledge of his team against one who took reigns of a struggling rudderless team 5 minutes ago... proves eff all really. I'd guess any normal unbiased comparison of the two would deem Pearson to have the better record but who actually cares? Neither Warburton nor Pearson will be our manager next season.Comment

C'mon. If every time we win one game people start praising Warburton I can't let it slide can I? I have no wish to discuss Warburton, I've kept my gob shut over the recent useless results - we're that close to end of season it's pointless to speculate. Wait til end of season, take stock of where we are and the 90+ games Warburton has been in charge and then make a judgement. Meanwhile, if I see any clownish pre-emptive support for more Warburton I'll have to present a counter view. It's them what start it, not me!Originally posted by Buffalo
That's a bold statement. I'd lay odds that Warburton will be here for next season at least.

You planted your flag in the ground regarding Warburton a long time ago , your not going to change that view regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season .That’s your opinion and your entitled to it but if your not seeing progress on a smaller budget year on year that would surprise me .

And Warbs suddenly became a better manager in Jan at the same time a better players were brought in?

Warbs and his team did the best they could in the first half of the season with a squad that were only just good enough to stay out of the bottom three.
If anything the second half of the season had shown that a bigger budget would not be a gamble in his hands. His stock has increased and his position is safe. I'm looking forward to next season with Warbs in charge and a bigger budget for key positions.Comment

Only just been able to watch the highlights of this game and am pleased to see that it was a very good team performance, so well done.
A great cross from Kane, who seems to be getting better at delivering crosses. Also good work from Wallace in getting forward. Was pleased with Field and Johansen in midfield and a good solid debut from De Wijs.
