I have a real problem with playing two holding midfielders at home. It is almost always completely unnecessary, and sends a clear message to the opposition that we are playing simply to not get beat.

Hits, you are preaching to the converted. I am probably one of his harshest critics, and agree that he made a complete mess of it. With that said, if the ball is passed along the floor as opposed to waist height, the ensuing calamity doesn't happen.
