I know we seem to say this every week, but we are desperately in need of a creative midfielder to affect the game in the final third. Very scrappy affair so far, neither side deserves to win this one on the evidence of that 1st half.

Not sure he's even that good to watch to be honest - just seems to run into defenders, which results (occasionally) in him bundling his way through or (generally) losing control and giving way possession.

Exactly. Barton and Henry are solid, but they aren't matchwinners. At this level, you need someone who can do something special out of nowhere, like Taarabt. I'm not saying he should be playing (I have no idea how Match Fit he is), but certainly we need to bring in someone like that in January. Rodriguez from Athletico Madrid may be the answer. Someone direct who can beat a player and pick a pass in the final third.
