Dreadful game, very poor performance which barely deserved a point, got to blame the manager here, rested all the creative and quick players, Frey is a carthorse and Field is too negative, have earned 2 points where 6 was clearly achievable in the last 2 games.

Nardi is a bag of nerves, Dunne is hopelessly out of form, and Cook is finished.

Ref was as poor as our ball boys who refuse to collect the balls, at one stage had 3 on the pitch, maybe they are not allowed on ?.

You make some good points but I think we need to credit Oxford for their fighting spirit. In hindsight, our starting eleven definitely questionable. Field remains too passive for a regular start. You have to get at teams from the off. Our bench is stronger than for a while but not strong enough to leave Saito and Burrell out. I am also uncertain that Frey and Kone can play together. Madsen is also the brains of the team and needs to start.

I normally agree with you Romford but I think you are a bit off with a couple of things. Cook was good overall. Goal saving clearance in first half and was more than decent over 90 mins. Not sure what people expect from dunne. Hes a 6"4 cb playing right back. Hes a target man from goal kicks and corners. Thats it. He does a job.

Agree on field. fields too slow and also slows the tempo with backwards passes. Frey is frey. Still had more attempts on goal than kone who looks a bit lost.

Always gives his all, however was blowing out his #### towards the end, and was cramping up. Been a brilliant player for the club, however should not be first choice, although choices are limited. I would play Field at centre half if short on Saturday with Morrison.

Thought Cook had half decent game as did RND, Midfield containing 2 x holding midfielders does nothing in a game where we need to open up a side happy to defend

A year ago not many would be saying Madsen has to start but he's become pivotal in midfield for us, Dembele needs to sort himself out imo fancy flicks and tricks great but beat your man and with Frey and Kone in the box find them

Vale was poor but not the only one dire game terrible performance slow far too often with the ball

Was at the game and rewatched the game when i got back - i don't think we were as bad as some are making out. Sure only A single Shot on target is the headline stat! but Oxford defended superbly and with a few better choices in the pen box we could have won the game.

the mid week fixtures alone have proved how even the championship is this season 8 of the 12 games were draws - keeping an unbeaten run going is always going to be important and its going to come down to fine margins.

5 changes is too much but in theory we have the strongest bench we've had for a while so we should be able to change and adapt.

But as fans we love to deal in the extremes we are either promotion bound or Dire - there doesn't seem to be a middle ground.

Agree these really should be winnable games especially at home. Wasn’t confident when l saw the line ups. Stick with your best eleven until situations demand a change. They can’t be tired this early in the season. Remember George Best saying you only get tired when you’re losing. Play seven days a week when you’re winning. Showing my age now

Not sure why we had to change the side. Apparently we need to rest players. We've played 6 weeks of a season. I don't remember Manchester United dropping Beckham, Keane, Giggs Scholes or Neville back in the day when they won everything

This resting players nonsense is doing my head in! Two games against middling oppositi9n and what's the narrative? Does the manager target going all out for six points to gatecrash promotion spots or does he spend the week blathering on about resting and rotating players? He's pissed away some gettable points with his unnecessary tinkering, fiddling and applying the handbrake to a team that had got into top gear and was starting to soar. He is a damn fool in my view.

Even the way we started smacked of players being told to take it easy, pace yourself and dont overdo it early on - absolutely disgraceful against a team like Oxford that offer little aside than hard work and hard running.

If we put in a barnstorming all-action performance on Saturday and take 3pts I'll apologise and wind my neck in. But, I strongly suspect we have lost precious momentum and will put in a turgid Marti-esque lightweight shot-shy effort.... will have to wait and see.
