Samba wasn't our fault. The club wanted to sign him and he wanted to come. Blackburn refused to sell him to a rival. In the end it made no difference to Blackburn because they were relegated anyway.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostThe Doc has a point - don't know about the ins and outs of release clauses but if we had just bought the right players we all identified at the time it would have saved a huge amount of money on all these cheaper alternatives that didn't work out.

I thought we refused to match the 10/12m asking price? I think Tony has realised that sadly if you are going to completely rebuild a squad you can't do it on the cheap in the prem. by rebuilding you lose the team spirit and you can only make up for that by buying really good players, not the assortment of nearly men and yesterday's men that we bought.Originally posted by janemelanie View PostSamba wasn't our fault. You make the assumption that these players would've come to us. Identifying good players is one thing. Persuading them to come to us is quite another.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostThe Doc has a point - don't know about the ins and outs of release clauses but if we had just bought the right players we all identified at the time it would have saved a huge amount of money on all these cheaper alternatives that didn't work out.Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

its passion...second...they are comitted to spend what is required to keep moving forward but not stupidly,,,as revenue and stability grows, so does outlay.....i think thats sense and that it was a good
effort by the club to get players semi cheap who should be able to ensure safety. didnt work out that way but was close. TF showing his class and commitment as usual by stepping up and stepping it up.

We put in a bid for Samba which was refused. Samba then put in a transfer request which was also refused. He then refused to play for Blackburn. The transfer window closed and Samba was still at Blackburn. It then became apparent that he was not going to play and Blackburn transferred him to Russia on February 24 (which is when the transfer window in Russia ends). Don't think Samba was ever that keen on going to Russia but since he had requested a transfer, refused to play and could not be transferred to a British club he did not have a lot of choice.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostI thought we refused to match the 10/12m asking price? I think it's 3.5m & IMO he looked good at running at people but he can't pass the ballOriginally posted by zuluop View Postwhy not go for Diamé....who also has a clause close to £7m.Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
