youre not wrong there, he still seems to struggle with the physical nature of the game over here. he gets knocked over very easily and prefers to spend his time arguing with the ref rather than getting on with the game. for somebody with bundles of ability he doesnt fully apply himself, where as youve got mackie who lacks the fundamentals but appears to try his hardest (giving him this status amongst our support). only because someone is talented doesnt make them good for the team or that they have a good work ethic, in my eyes he is still pretty much the poster boy for the hughes era and all that was wrong about it. i hope this changes in the not so distant future as we could do with someone of his ability committed to our cause that is survival in the prem

granero should also start. how many central midfelders come from foreign leagues and immediately start dominating premiership matches? u have to be realistic. if he stays in the prem he will definitely come good, i just hope its with us...

It is quite central and counter-attacking when we need it with remy and taarabt moving wider to help counter and BZ holding up the play and bringing others in. But it can be useful when we have been under pressure for ages and want to slow down the tempo to give ourselves some thinking time. Also, capoue can play deeper to accommodate the likely movement of fabio and yun further forward, with m'bia going to centre back. Basically we interchage between 4-3-3 for counter, 4-3-1-2 for possession, and 3-5-2 for attacking overload

I can't understand why fans aren't more excited by this news. This Portuguese newspapers seems to have a fairly good insight into what is going on at his club. I've been let down too often to take anything for granted on this but the signs sound at least mildly positive. Lets not be in doubt - this would be one of the biggest signings we have made in many years.

he has had over half a season to bed in, it does worry me slightly given our current transfer policy of recruiting abroad. in our position we need people that can hit the ground running.

That's what I would play except changing Mbia and Capoue around. And rotate between Zamora and odemwingie if he comes
