How come every player QPR sign is a mercenary? Do other clubs not offer their players lucrative contracts to stay? Maybe he is a PROFESSIONAL that sees it as he may as well get the best pay he can for doing his job

A mercenary is someone who is in it purely for his own gain and has no loyalty whatsoever.

Look at RVP, he had many offers for years, but he stayed at Arsenal, because he wanted to win something with them. It was only after he realised that he was getting older and would never reach the top with Arsenal that he decided to leave. Therefore, not a mercenary. And there are countless examples of players who could have earned more elsewhere but stayed where they were or went to another club where they would earn less.

It is clear Remy is just following the money, whether or not he is a professional, is not the point. I'm not having a go at him, just stating it as it is.

Well yeah you're right he is following the money, but he could have a career ending injury tomorrow and thats that. I'm having a dig at whiney fans at other clubs who seem to take more interest in our deals than their own.We have had years and years of watching other clubs steam in and take our targets and now they're getting a taste of it back.
Player loyalty is long gone imo Stevie G maybe, but not many and i'm sure he's on a good whack there too

It's nothing to do with me being an accountant.**It's about him being a 27 year old footballer who knows that this is the last big contract of his career.**There's only a certain number of footballers who know they've got it in them to be honours winners, and they don't need to worry about wages, because the big clubs will pay them what they feel they're worth, and if they don't there'll be another big club willing to take them on.**Then you've got everybody else.**By this stage in his career, Remy knows he's which category he falls into (look at the clubs in for him ffs), so his decision about which club to pick has nothing to do with trophies, which leaves only one thing:**money.**

He gets presented with 2 options, both of which have the prospect of relegation, but one of which has double the salary and a relegation release clause included.**It's a no brainer.**He's not a mercenary for making that decision, he's just a bloke looking out for his own best interests.**And if you don't like it, then find a different sport to watch, cos this is modern football - we used to be the ones dishing out these moves (and thinking it was ****ing great at the time), and now we're on the receiving end.**
