I wish everyone would stop talking about Parker. He's no better than our current central midfielders.

Well it wasn't the point I was making because Hughes bought midfielders by the truckload so Parker would not be a priority and I don't think it will happen.
My point was that there are really awesome older players and there are run of the mill looking to retire older players.
Parker is the former. Actually though I think if he had played in CM all season for QPR there would be more than 6 points on the board for sure. At least he would not have given up trying.Comment

Nice 2 see the 'experience' Paying off though. Rock bottom and ain't won a game all season. Imagine if we bought youth. We could be in all sorts of trouble.Comment

But run of the mill looking to retire types were once really awesome older players, no?
Only six months ago Bosingwa was playing brilliantly at centre half against Barcelona. And now he's a shadow of his former self.
I'm not sure why Parker should be exempt from this sort of decline. The guy is 32 and coming back from a long-term injury.
I get the whole heart-on-sleeve English bulldog blah blah stuff of course, but still don't think it makes him a worthwhile risk. He's no way near good as Mbia.Comment

at no point in that article does redknapp say that WE are after Anelka. metro making a story from nothing i think. could be wrong but it seems reporters could mention almost any player to redknapp and as soon as he answers they link that player to us. no chance we could afford him anyway and would only upset the dressing room more than it is already.Comment

Yes he does that well, but his passing and general distribution of the football are shocking and nowhere near the standard of Faurlin, Granero, Mbia, Taarabt etc.... I wouldn't want Parker, regardless of the fact it's not going to happen. Injury prone also.Comment
