  • State of the dressing room

    From The Guardian:

Not too long ago, one of Mark Hughes's signings for Queens Park Rangers went to see the manager in his office and decided to lay it on the line. He was sorry, he said, but he'd never worked in a more poisonous dressing room. Then he started to reel off who had grudges with whom, why player A disliked player B and so on. Hughes and his staff had no idea it had deteriorated to this point.

Hopefully Harry will lay down the law and get them to start acting like adults.

If true, my money would be on Nelsen as that player that laid it on the line.

According to a journo on the radio Friday, things have got so bad, that at lunch during training one of the players eats his sandwiches in his car, 'cause he can't sit with the rest of the team. (Was not revealed who this was).

Can't believe that PL footballers take sandwiches to work, so that in itself would throw suspicion on the rest of the story.

Obviously not a happy place though.

Hughes has created a total mess. I cannot see us staying up barring a miracle

If it is Zamora, he may have developed a taste for cucumber sandwiches at Fulham.

cant believe hughes and his team let it get to this. no point worrying about fitness stats etc if the entire group of players basically hate each other. if true its extraordinary that hughes and co didn't know. it supports the main criticism of hughes, namely that he is too remote and doesn't really communicate.

If you bring in a group of strangers, it's imperative you get them to bond. Every company I have worked with employs many team building activities. Even if you think they're daft, you still bond laughing about how dumb they are.

Amazing that Hughes doesn't do basic things like that.

Odds on Harry's team building will be a night at the dogs then .......
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."
