Agreed. To think instead of going for the £1.5m Ebanks-Blake we took the cheaper option and went for Agyemang.

How much in salaries and fees has Agyemang, Helguson and De Carmine cost us? Far too early to say but don't think Pellicori will do much better either.

The likes of Lita, Cox, Ebanks-Blake, Iwelumo, Martin Paterson, Priskin and now Tommy Smith were all available for less than £2m and we decided not to sign any of them.

Homer should certainly score enough goals to steady the ship. But is it for the entire season or just until Christmas? Fear it is too little, too late to give us a realistic chance of promotion as the team looks in disarray and just isn't fit (the fitness coach was arguably a bigger loss even than Dexter). But at least we should be good enough to move away from the relegation contenders.
