    just found this
Roy Hodgson will not rule out a return for John Terry in the hope that the defender reverses his decision to retire from international football. The England boss accepted Terry's decision to quit.

The more and more this developes the more despondent I get by the apathy being shown by QPR fans. Ok so its getting boring yes but the FA have just found this ***** GUILTY of racially abusing one of our own players. If our own fans don't get it then how far has the fight against Racism gone back during this whole sorry EPisode. As for 4 game ban unbelievable when you think Barton got a 12 match ban.

John Terry is odious underclass yes ,but I dont think he is an out and out racist more thick than anything ,what the Puratanical PC wont accept is there is an eliment of racism in all of us white black and brown weather it is intentional or not .
i think if terry had shook hands with A F at the end of the game and just said sorry about the verbal mate anton would have let it go as most black players would imo, but as i said he's thick more than anything

I absolutely sure that he is more angry, stupid and a liar than he is racist. I'm also fairly sure that he either lost his temper and either said something racist without thinking, or said something outrageous to get a reaction from Anton. Remember this was at a point in the game where the Chelsea team were trying anything and everything to get the ref to even it up a little bit. Terry was the worst of any of them. Neither possibility should go without punishment.

The behaviour of Anton was called into question in the court, but I don't think the general frustration and anger that the Chelsea team and notably their captain were showing during that game is taken into consideration by the general public.

Wonder what the punishment for a fan would if the fan did exactly the same as Terry. Four-match ban or a life ban?
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Well Chelsea have banned fans recently for racism offences, so it will be interesting to see if that gets mentioned in the press!

The length of ban is an interesting one. It looks like they'll say that the Suarez 8 game ban was for repeated offences, doubling the standard 4 game ban (Terry said it once therefore 4 games only). Joey Barton had three red card offences so 12 games. It does look like they've decided any offence is 4 games regardless of severity. Makes it easy for them logistically but is a massive cop out. The fine seems to be more based on wages than offence too. Very odd.

C/mon dont give Chelsea any credit for banning a fan that was just a token gesture to launder theirselves in public ,if Chelsea was serious about racism they would have taken action when just after this kicked off last year at an away euro game a block of their scum held up white cards chanting anton Ferdinand you what you are !! meaning a F/cking black C/nt and thinking it was a jolly good wheze ,easey to trace a block booking a block flight booking

You seem to have let your obsession with my opinions colour your actual understanding of whaty I wrote.

Nothing that I wrote up there is even close to 'standing up for him'. I'm just suggesting that although the FA treat these offences free of context (correctly), but there was context, and not necessarily the context that Terry used as his excuse. The judge didn't even fall for that one. The Chelsea players were absolutely seething for most of that game, and Terry was the ringleader in terms of trying to influence the ref to even it up. This is obvious to us, who watched the game, but maybe hasn't been mentioned in the press. It's possible that what he said was designed to provoke a reaction from Ferdinand or a teammate. It could also have been a loss of temper that showed a side of him that he usually keeps under wraps. Who knows? It's hard to imagine that an overt racist could get this far in his career, without him slipping earlier.

My opinion of John Terry is pretty much unchanged by this incident, he's an overrated (but decent) CB, but as he has proved time and again, a terrible human being.

And Dave, my opinion on this, and everything else I post on is genuinely held. It's a shame we differ so markedly on so many things, but I'm not going to say something on here, especially on these kind of subjects, just to wind someone up.

Not giving Chelsea any credit tbf, and I agree that it seemed conveniently timed

i just wonder if the press will mention it in terms of 'Chelsea ban fan for racism, but retain Terry as captain after he is banned for using racist terms '

                          It's doubtful sadly.

Deepcut......I doubt Chelscum will do ANYTHING to penalise Terry.......and I also doubt that Terry will put his hand up now and say 'sorry...I lost it in the heat of the moment'......

I would imagine that the Chelsea/Terry reaction to this shameful episode will only reinforce what we already know about the dirty little club down the road.

JT has FINALLY been found guilty, which he undoubtedly was, regardless of the decision of a contemptibly mor0nic judge who probably would have accepted "it wasn't me, it was a holographic image of me projected from Mars" as introducing reasonable doubt.

As for the punishment, rather astonishingly the only difference between what he said being acceptable and unacceptable seems to be the word "black". A suspension a bit longer than a straight red seems about right to me.

Time to move on and let the "Craptain, Loser, Rear End" stew in his own juices.
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

There's so much worse going on in this world but when a man says something he didn't mean, and apparently never said anything too harsh,it makes the news and they make him out to be on the same scale as some sort of evil murderer.
