centre back pairings are all about partnerships

for that reason I am still semi worried. Do we have a decent enough centre half to pair up with m' bia, i'd say we don't but maybe Nelson with a run of games can do a job. I don't think ferdinand and Hill are the answer. Yes clint did well last season but I was surprised we offered him a new deal which will upset a few on here.

I really think Onouha is the answer, looks good as a CB much more than a full back, would be my pairing !!!!

Well I think it will help having a midfield that protects the defence, we'll be ok

We definitely need to pick two out Onuoha/Ferdinand/Nelsen/M'Bia and then stick to it! Considering we've ended up signing 12 players it's very short sighted that at least one of those wasn't a recognised CB! I don't know anything about M'Bia so maybe he's the answer, certainly Kompany arrived in England as DM and is now the best CB in the league!

It isn't sorted but it could be worse, obviously. We've kind of ended up with a number of people who can play there, but no out and out specialist signed - and it is very much a specialist position.

It wouldn't surprise me if our pairing was Mbia / Nelsen but could be Ono. Tricky call.

Don't forget we have a decent goalkeeper.

Until we see M'Bia in action, it's tough to say who he will form a partnership with. I will wait until the 3rd or 4th time this topic comes up I think.

Mbia and Ferdinand - Anton will look transformed alongside a powerful, physical centre back.

Apart from Nelsen who's played there all his career, captained an established prem club for years from CB and captained his country for years....???

Also, Mbia has played there the last 2 years apparently, so is as recognised a CB as you'd need, regardless if he can equally play CM as well.

I am sure the pairing when all are settled will be Mbia and Nelsen with Anton and Onouha as back up... i personally don't see how Hill fits in the plans now.

CBs - Nelson, Onuoha, M'bia, Ferdinand with Cesar, Green behind them.

                    Very happy with that.

I don't know about ferdinand needing someone physical, but I hope he's a vocal centre back. Anton or even Onuoha, need someone vocal next to them to order them around.

Wrong historical leader in goal mate.
