question: if barton didn't know he didnt have a squad number until about an hour ago, how cd this deal have been arranged? don't players have the right to refuse loan moves? I thought they did.

I thought this. IMO Barton must have been playing stupid on purpose regards the squad number. He tweeted a few days back saying something about his future being sorted soon with some exciting prospects on the horizon, must have been referring to this. He must have known for a while hes not in the clubs plans for going forward IMO.

I think DC is a pretty reliable reporter. I was at LR when he arrived with Joey the day he signed. Had a brief chat with him. Seemed a good bloke.
