sounds as if deal is looking shaky. if our transfer budget really has been £1.5m cant see us suddenly splashing out 10m Euros or whatever this guy would cost. love to be proved wrong but no evidence we are serious about spending those sort of numbers.Comment

A number of clubs were interested in him, but none have actually come forward to buy him, so surely OM (who need the money) are better of with a loan than nothing.
Personally not too sure about him. He went to OM in 2009 (turned down Stoke and some other clubs) and said he thought OM were the best team in the world. In 2011 HE stated that Man U was interested in him. Then in 2012 he asks for a transfer because he says he wants to play in the premiership. Sounds like he doesn't really know what he wants.Last edited by jmelanie; 17-08-2012, 09:59 PM.Comment

i thought giroud had said in an interview that he definitely talked to us about a transfer - we must have made a serious big-money bid for it to get that far.
also... i'm sure that marseille are still in the europa league qualification process - so they are still in european competition despite the article claiming that they're not.Comment

Still think we could get m'bia. we did offer 12 million for that donkey Giroud so I think Tony saying we have only spent 1.5 million means that there might be some more money in the pot. Here's hoping anyway. Get him in and then there's only Berbatov left to sign up!!!Comment
