Although a decent shout, and you put a good case forward, I don't think he will get it after his red card love affair last season and the fact he is a forward.

Nelsen will be the captain when he joins up with the squad tomorrow after the Kiwis football team goes home.

I'm surprised there aren't more shouts for Hill. Stand-out player at the end of last season and our best defender over the whole campaign.

Unless we sign someone else I can't see any reason why he shouldn't keep his centre back spot.

            Nelsen- as above
What language do they speak in New Zealand then? ;)

It will be either Clint Hill or Anton Fedinand.

True! However, it didn't seem to do Patrick Viera too much harm! :=):

Good call on being a forward though, having said that there must have been some good forwards that were effective captains somewhere (although I'm struggling to think of any at the moment! Shearer maybe?).

I prefer a captain to be a defender or midfielder but going against the grain i can see it being CISSE as he is vocal, has loads of passion and has played at the highest level and will have the respect of the team

In our starting line up who is really vocal though? Possibly Rob Green will be the loudest as a keeper has to be. I expect it to be Park tbh
