Yes, and being a Londoner and being Male and being a car driver and being a QPR fan are all different things but I am all those things simultaneously, just as I am both British and English.

    Stop digging that hole!

I'm not questioning your right to claim Britishness, just don't try and force me into accepting it, that's all.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Hold on, dude. Being British is not a "right" that I've "claimed".

It's just a fact, whether I like it or not. I am a British citizen and have a British passport, and that is my nationality. Same with you.

If you are making the point that your mindset is that you consider yourself first and foremost English rather than British, and that in your ideal world England would be an independent nation with its own currency and passport etc, then fair enough, that’s your view.

But it doesn’t change the fact that you are currently a British citizen.

Personally, I don’t like the Little Englander argument. The smaller the territory one associates oneself with, the smaller the worldview and the lower the level of tolerance.

We should have a team World, at these Olympics.

                  OK then. Please yourself

We Brits are celebrating 6 golds today!!!!

                  What a fantastic days sport.

Not even the footy loss can put a dent in it. Exhilarating stuff.

Reckon even you would have felt some pride at what Britain did today if you turned on the tv and watched it

Not even a little smile for us then vblock?

Go on just give us a little one, look at Jess Ennis face....

Come on, that was the greatest night in British athletics and you can't feel a tiny bit of happiness for the athletes that have worked so hard, and beaten the world, the Olympic stadium absolutely rocking with noise as Jess and Mo powered home in their races?

Nothing against the athletes just think the whole thing is a waste of this countries money at a time when we should be spending it elsewhere. Havent watched it not out of spite but just because i have absolutely no interest in any of the "sports" (slalom canoing! ffs). Have never bothered watching Olympics or Athletics before as it bores the shite out of me. Just want the footie season to start, thats all i'm interested in. Take a win against Swansea instead of 50 gold medals for TeamGB. If the women athletes want to participate naked then i might watch it..other than that nahhhh not interested :-)
