Real shame, as that was one of the greatest days of sport to watch.

    Emotional rollercoaster all the way.

Watching sports you wouldn't normally even have heard of is a big part of the Olympic fortnight wherever it is. I know what a libero in volleyball is now ffs

Obviously the money could have been spent elsewhere, but I'll be buggered if I'm not going to get behind our athletes (and indeed all of them), they'd be doing this wherever the games were held.

It's just a fact, whether I like it or not. I am a British citizen and have a British passport, and that is my nationality. Same with you.

If you are making the point that your mindset is that you consider yourself first and foremost English rather than British, and that in your ideal world England would be an independent nation with its own currency and passport etc, then fair enough, that’s your view.

But it doesn’t change the fact that you are currently a British citizen.

Personally, I don’t like the Little Englander argument. The smaller the territory one associates oneself with, the smaller the worldview and the lower the level of tolerance.
No one is questioning your right to claim Britishness and you have no right to dispute my claim to Englishness which has legal status now. It was a group put on the last census.

You stick to your Britishness and I'll stick to my Englishness and there'll be no more disagreements.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

He just said he's not 'claiming' Britishness. Did you read his reply? This sentence in particularly

This is perfectly correct. Nobody is denying you your Englishness. You are the one erroneously claiming not to be British. Seems odd to be so stubborn over something so straightforward.

If the R's are "so rubbish" next season as Facto thinks GB are at the Olympics right now, I think most of us will be very happy come May next year.
