How about looking at it this way, Hughes has picked up 3 very decent players for nothing, has Diakite to officially sign & has bigger irons in the fire.

I know they're an improvement, but I'm certainly not going to pretend to be excited.

However, I am very pleased if we have signed Green, and I'll be ecstatic if/when Diakite is confirmed.

A quick view of how football fans have generally reacted to today's signings is telling in my opinion.

Don't forget Southampton have just splashed 7M on one player......think we need to set our heights a bit higher than Andrew Johnson if we are to compete. I have no doubt we will spend some cash though.

I trust MH but 6 prem goals in 3 seasons is hardly much to get excited about.......

Tbh I hope we start to invest in some younger players that aren't gunning for their last pay check-our squad is stupidly old!
