Middlesbrough were linked with him last week.

Only reason he will have gone there is he thinks they have a better chance of promotion than Bristol Rovers.

Which says something about Bristol Rovers as southampton on -9 points.

Knows exactly where the goal is, cud have just used the blackstock money as it wud have been an upgrade. Every day it becomes even more likely that we wont sign a striker

But Pete with respect if a player is wanted by lots of clubs (ie Lita) you tend to say something like "we tried to sign him but there was a lot of competition. There aren't many strikers who score 20 plus goals a season and everyone wants them." I don't like to criticise as think you run a great site here but you do seem to have a different excuse for every occasion. I'm not criticising you because I know its not you holding the purse strings, but why not just be upfront and admit the board don't want to spend the money?

My neighbour is a Southampton & Exeter fan (split loyalties this season).....but he mentioned this signing when I got home from work tonight.....Lambert is far too good for Southampton. He's a natural goalscorer and does it consistently, albeit one Div lower than us.
