Question re JB/25 man squad

Does not have to be in the 25 and the sqaud is finalised at the end of August. He is banned for the club's next 12 competitive games wether he is in or not.

The reserve games don't count towards his ban. But he's not allowed to play in them for the duration of his ban, as I understand it.

which to me is restraint of his trade isn't it? How can he banned from both but only 1st team games count towards his punishment

no mate it's more than probably right but it just seems unfair to stop him playing reserve games when they don't count towards his ban

If his 12 game ban counts even if he isn't in the 25 man squad then yes, I would leave him out. Which means he will have Nov & Dec to play for the reserves & friendlies to get match fit for when the January squad is named.

If the FA insist that he has to be included in the squad for the ban count to start, then surely they would be punishing the team as well as the player.
