Daft isn't it? But even if he stuck to radio shows, he would still have to put up with lying trouble makers, like the one who phoned up 606 one day and complained that not only had Savage bought 7 pairs of trainers, but got the young lad in the shop to carry them to his car.

Savage seems like a nice enough fellow to me. Quite how he could have upset someone enough to elicit that sort of comment is unimaginable.

I have to say, from reading various messageboards, I shudder to think how some of our fans might have behaved, if God forbid, this had happened to our twitter happy captain.

Are you for real? If by "internet abuse" you meant a few digs at his footballing ability, hair etc then I agree, u gotta take that sorta thing on a social networking site, u get that. But to be expected to take such comments about ur recently passed father? Nobody should be expected to put up with that.
