The facts and forum characters.

Firstly, the 'doom and gloom' isn't caused by posters, it's caused by the team that we all support not being good enough, and leaving us all in a depressed state of mind because we are in a relegation survival battle. This is something that is constantly in all our minds and won't go away, and we can either bottle it up or discuss it.

As I see it, there are two types of forum characters, those who like to discuss what might be going wrong, and to analyse possible ways it may improve, or predicting that we might go down hoping for reassurance that we won't from someone, and to generally debate our predicament.

However, the other type don't want to think about it, would rather bury their heads in the sand (ostriches), and hope it all goes away, but more importantly, they shoot down in flames anyone who does want to discuss it and labels those posters as 'doom and gloom' merchants.

And this is why the forum is quiet, conflicting mindsets between the 2 types. Posters who want to discuss it don't post for fear of being shot down, but at least they are facing the problem instead of hiding from it.

I see where you are coming from - except that being positive doesn't make someone an ostrich- it is quite possible to put together an argument that suggests we will avoid the drop based on evidence -for example, the hope that the new and old faces will knit together better before the next game,that leaders will emerge, that Hughes has shown the ability to get out of this type of situation before, the fact that we dominated posession and goal attempts at Blackburn -if this continued we would expect to get enough results to keep us up, the fact that we have one more home game than away than three of the four teams below us - I could go on.This does not make me an ostrich! The fact is, I prefer to look at half full rather than half empty glasses because the alternative is rather miserable. Maybe people like me could be reluctant to post as they prefer not to be shot down by the misery merchants?

You can debate and analyse the current predicament all you want, but ultimatley it will have the same effect on the problem as those sticking their heads in the sand.

Unless you are directly employed by QPR FC, then there is nothing you can do to directly effect the outcome.

Those involved in the club, must hope for the best and plan for the worst. As we are not involved in the planning, all we are left with is hoping for the best.

There is another type of poster people have forgotten about (well stanley sort of said it), and those are the supporters who returned just as we had gained or were about to gain promotion to the prem, they are now unhappy because it hasn't gone perfect for them so are trying to drag down the supporters who have been going whatever league or season we have been in.

One positive if we get relegated is they will all quickly disappear again, although i'm not saying i want it to happen.

Why is it that only the positive posters can apparently bury their heads in the sand....? The same could equally be said for the doom and gloom merchants who are adament we'll be relegated regarless of any other circumstances. You'd think we were 10 points adrift at the bottom, not outside the relegation zone....
