If Samba paid his contract up, I would think there would be an FA inquiry into it it that would make faurlingate seem trivial. As this would be seen as a loophole into getting round the transfer windows. They would want to know where the money came from, and if there was any financial paper trail back to us, we'd be slaughtered.Comment

If nothing else we have successfully de-stabalised Blackburn's best player. They should have indicated their reluctant willingness to sell him and got a bidding war going between us and Spuds. They probably cd have got Bassong and Piennar in a swap deal but instead they are left with nothing. More fool them. Now someone (hopefully us) will pick him up for a lot less in the summer.Comment

Ha! Ha! Don't think they will have anything on us. If Sparky did make any direct approach it was surely prior to his being appointed manager. He is nothing if not ultra professional. We made a series of offers through the correct channels and their player was upset one of those offers was not accepted.
