This is an interesting debate and I often find myself asking black or asian people in the street why they are wearing England shirts when they are clearly not English but then I wake up and realise it was a dream and I am not a complete retard after all. Phew.

Surely if this is your argument then all England players of parentage that is not of 100% anglo-saxon lineage shouldn't be allowed to represent England?!

I've gone off the idea of England national team - not worth it. Rather they played players from League 1 and 2, at least they'd show some passion. Ok i was born in England and have a nan that is Spanish, i have never really been a big fan of International Football but prefer to see England do well as i also live here.
Maybe i should follow Spain though and do a bit of 'Glory hunting' as it seems i have a right.
After all Isn't Giggs playing for Wales because his Grandparent is Welsh.

Not a chance I cannot stand Terry(particularly), Rooney or Ashley Cole and it would turn my stomach to think of them leading England to glory and i use to go to England games all the time up to about 5 years ago.

My father is Irish and I was christened a Catholic but I was brought up and born in this country! Therefore I will die for this country and to be honest feel sorry for the "I'm Irish, no I'm English, nope I'm Irish" type fans we seem to have on this board!

If JT was in any other job he'd be on gardening leave as soon as he was charged with a crime, pending dismissal if found guilty. But because he's England's captain that makes him "special" and the FA have not only let him keep his job, the trial proper is conveniently after the tournament.

That's why I won't watch England. I don't respect most of the players and most of the people in the big beauracracy that is the FA. Somebody said that the players lack heart - as I'm not patriotic enough to support England just because I live here, I think that IS a reason not to support them. If they can't be bothered, why should I be bothered to watch them?
