          Didi Hamann?

          Defensive midfielder Didi Hamann could be on the verge of resurrecting his career with either Preston North End or Queens Park Rangers.

          The 35-year-old Manchester City player left Eastlands at the end of last season after the club refused to offer the former German international a new contract. Now it appears Championship sides Preston and QPR are on the verge of offering Hamann a lifeline with a one-year contract.

                              better than mahon, but we can't sell mahon purely for the sound of his bald head slapping the leather and the fact he is a footballing genius and legend.
