I wish we had a captain who wouldn’t get wound up by a bunch of farmers, try to swing his elbows in his opponents face, and then try a lame head butt.

I’ll have more respect for Joey if he knocked Bradley Johnson out and then apologised for it. A bit like Clint Hill did after his decent head butt against Bolton.

Odd, I though Barton didn't aim a headbutt at Johnson, and the 'elbow' was in frustration at being pulled/kicked. Stupid obviously, and he did let himself get provoked, but not quite as violent as you suggest.

I thought Clint Hill was stupid and thuggish against Bolton. We still lost him for three games, and at the time he did it, we had no replacement.

Doesnt he say that players reputations are / can affect the decision..bearing that in mind, if you were JB with his reputation...would you be dumb enough to wound up and do what he did?? or would you be the bigger man, walk away and win the game for the club you captain..then have a dig on twitter?

again, he should be dissapointed that he got set up all fell for it

That doesnt just apply to JB by the way..plenty of them fall for it..

                enough said !..

PS..does he still ref? i thought he'd retired or am i thinking of someone else?

Makes his comment on twitter laugable really.
Against Norwich he clearly did not act like a captain.
                  Childish behaviour in my book.
