Prem teams need to have bigger stadiums than ours. Thats just a fact. If Tony and co want to make qpr a self sustaining prospect, run the club like a business and look to the future it simply has to be done.
Its a simple choice, stay at LR and have a huge albatros round the clubs neck in 5-10yrs
or gamble - and its a big gamble - and build new. sooner rather than later as well. The shape and size will depend on who invests, we will have to make some concessions if the council put some cash in, they will want multi purpose. there will be other bidders for any land going , white city or somewhere else and we will have to prove that its for the good of the local area and all that jazz.

I love loftus road, great memories of the place , i loved the old wembley great memories , watched england on many occasions , even watched my club once -cried like a little girl in 86 (not so good memory!) ...but the point is it had to be rebuilt as it simply was not up to scratch .....as much as it hurts LR is simply not up to scratch. Things move on and change fact of life, not always fair!

Gotta move with the times mate.Prem football is no longer the average minimum wage workers sport. It is more aimed at middle class big spenders.

If you wanna stand on a terrace in a river of **** then go and watch League 2 football.

Modern day football fans/new fans want comfort/luxury/decent bogs/bars.

If we want to be a serious prem team we need a proper stadium with proper facilities.

Not massives queue's for bogs and refreshments.

Stadium's like Reading and Southampton are good example's of decent new stadium's.

i just love, love ,love loftus road and would be heart broken if the old girl is finally closed down! but if moving into a new a new ground woulld secure the future of our club it would be with a heavey heart that id have to agree with a move!

Amazing atmosphere but a dump of a ground...

Whilst the original poster is correct regarding the atmosphere I think that to a large extent rose tinted specs are coming into play...

LR is an embarrassment of a ground even with the lick over that Flabio gave it a year or so ago... as has been stated by lots on here the facilities, views, size etc are all valid reasons why we should move.... maybe 20yrs ago it was passable but not now when compared to what else is possible and available...

Are you seriously trying to say that a full 30K stadium mostly filled with pumped up frenzied R's fans couldn't replicate the atmosphere from last Sun against Chelsea?

How about we make a new stadium exactly like LR with the tight pitch, fans close etc.. BUT just bigger?

just like the rest of the ground when SAR is lively so is the rest of the ground, every game could be big in the PL is the fans come prepared like Stoke fans for instance

Capacity, 28,000-30,000 I think. Not to far out of our reach, especially if we can become established in the Prem.

Don't see why it would have to look like The Walkers, or all the other very similar grounds springing up. I appreciate that they are becoming the norm nowadays, but one like Boavista's would be great. Have to admit though, it will be a very sad day when we leave LR.

Brighton's new ground is superb in all respects other than getting to and from it. They also supplement it with some really nice touches with regard to visiting fans. They had awful crowds before and although that was partly down to the size of the Withdean, things like no shelter from rain, sharing their seats with The Open etc., didn't help. Our stadium, despite all its wonderful memories is dreadful really.

Those not as old as some of us, are probably not aware that what we see today is a world apart from how it was say 40 years ago. Even though about 30 years ago, it was the most modern ground in the country and the only one to be enclosed all the way around. We managed to get over that without too much trouble.
