    Puncheon

Not going to comment on his performance, because he wasn't exactly given any time to shine, and I'll exercise my right to criticise once I've seen more of him, but one thing I did notice was that he seemed to have consumed a fair few too many pies and may need to go on one of these intense fitness courses Adel was sent on.
Or was it just me? I don't know what the lad was like before last night.

Give him a chance!! Paid 25% of his loan fee himself to sign for us so really wants to be here. Can't see him blowing his chance by being overweight

I'd rather Hogan had been given his place in the squad. He is "our" player after all...Surely Hogan would have made a much better cameo then what we saw from Puncheon last night.

IMO, Hogan is awful. Great lad Im sure, seems a pretty good pro, but as a player i feel he really has zero impact on a game aganist any half decent oppo and really dont think he will be anywhere near good enough to make an impact in the PL.

We've seen 2 minutes of Puncheon I think its borderline ridiculous to be writing the lad off already tbh. Im sure he will prove a decent loan signing, his record (said plenty of times before but may aswell again : 5 in 7 in CCC & 3 in 11 in PL) last year speaks volumes IMO.

Hogan aside, we have plenty of quality to bring on and make an impact these days; taking yesterday as an example, having the likes of Smith, Buzz and DJ to bring on aint half shabby

                      I agree too Matty.
Feel a bit sorry for Hogan in a way. I'd put him in the category of Peter Ramage; totally deserving of our respect for their contributions when we needed them and for always being true professionals and very nice guys.
Sadly for both of them, we appear to have progressed a step beyond what they can give us.
Never too early to write someone off though.

Without a doubt will give him a chance, but point being was he looked overweight and didnt look at home with the movement and slick passing we produced last night.

As for Matty, would have been interesting to see Hogan get a chance with the team playing the way we did last night. That kid has a very good footballing brain.

As for the weight thing - I didn't notice but he is quite small and maybe the hoops just didn't suit too much Also, he hasn't played any football since last season so may just be carrying a bit too much?

On your second point, have you ever come on as a late sub in a football match? It is nigh on impossible to get into the game and one where the pace was intense, the passing so crisp, he was always going to look out of place if he did even one thing below par.

On in the 88th min for his debut, adrenelin buzzing and a performance that was so good before him - the kid was on a hiding to nothing.

I agree with Matty, his stats at Blackpool and Wall speak highly and Warnock wanted him here = good enough for me and I'll judge him at Christmas when the loan runs out

I hope he comes good i really do, but might need a fitness boot camp over the next week or 2 to get him in tip top shape.
