I reckon the "insider" mentioned is Dave's Views!! Sounds the sort of ambivalent rubbish he was posting.
    Remember Gillard!!

In Jan, a CB (Bassong) and a striker will be top of the list.
      Your mum would love me...

Beckham is out of contract in October and can be signed any time after that.

Anyone saying they don't want Beckham is certifiably insane IMO

I thought you could only sign free transfers up to the end of this week?

Either way he would not be able to play until Jan as we've filled our 25 quota which can't be changed until the window opens again.

What's not to want about him - still a model pro, with plenty of talent and a massive draw when it comes to raising the Club's profile - all around the world.

People saying he's past it are deluded. Watching him in the pre-season friendly against United he was still pinging it around like an absolute switchboard agent! His game was never about his endless running, it was all about his passes & crosses. I still think he's got another season in him along with being a complete pro. It would do wonders for our asian merchandising.

Another little aspect which could give this legs, but i don't think has been mentioned yet.... Phil Beard was involved with the 2012 bid, as was Beckham as an ambassador, so he may have links to him.

                            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Rumours during the international football break just to keep the people interested in buying newspapers.

He has the potential to literally double our gate. Can we get a new 35k stadium done by January?
                                Thought not.
