Barton is top 6/8 player IMO and we are in a relegation dogfight this season. Were it not for Barton's character and attitude we would not be in this position right now. We are not his first choice, I doubt we are his second or third.

The mindset is believing players really want to play for the shirt, its a delusion nowadays...those sorts of players are rarity.

to be honest we know where not the biggest club in the prem and so does barton, but he could have refused to talk to us so i see this as a good sign also feel he is be forced out of newcastle for some unknown reason.
